Zaikuan Song (Zuniga in Carmen) an operatic bass from China, received his Bachelor, master degree in vocal performance from China Conservatory of Music, Beijing, China, and Performance Diploma at Michigan State University College of Music in 2016. He is pursuing a D.M.A in vocal performance at Michigan State University College of Music since 2016 under the guidance of Prof. Richard Fracker. During his studies in Michigan State University he successfully performed the roles of Ariodate in Xerxse, Mr. Emerson in A Room With a View and Changwu Ye in the Chinese Opera The Savage Land with MSU Opera Theater. He won the first place of the National Association of Teachers Singing competition, in advanced of college category of Michigan Chapter Auditions, in November, 2015. He performed the role of Dulcamara in MSU´s production of Donizetti´s L´Elisir d´Amore in 2016. Recently he performed the role of Figaro in MSU´s production of Mozart´s Le nozze di Figaro.
