Anna Adrian Whiteway (Lauretta in Gianni Schicchi) is a first year Vocal Performance and Pedagogy master´s candidate studying under the tutelage of soprano Jennifer Bird- Arvidsson at the University of Colorado-Boulder. A native of La Crosse, Wisconsin, she recently graduated from the University of Wisconsin-Madison with a degree in Vocal Performance. With UW Opera she performed roles such as Princess Ginevra in Handel´s Ariodante, Héro in Béatrice et Bénédict by Berlioz, and the beloved Mozartian heroines, Susanna in Le Nozze di Figaro and Pamina in Die Zauberflöte. She will reprise the role of Pamina this spring with the CU-Boulder Eklund Opera Program. Anna has won first place at the Wisconsin NATS Auditions and the Schubert Club Scholarship Competition, and in 2015 was awarded an Encouragement Award at the Wisconsin District Metropolitan Opera National Council Auditions. This summer she enjoyed living high in the Rocky Mountains and singing the role of Valentina in John Musto´s one-act opera Later the Same Evening as a studio artist with Central City Opera.
